Glad you stopped by.
This will be my new place to share some art, some of my favorite things, some memories, maybe a few hopes and dreams. Hope you enjoy your visit here. I pray you will be blessed. Oh! and all comments are welcome.
THIS IS MY THIRD ATTEMPT TO DO A POST....THE PICTURES TOOK FOREVER TO DOWNLOAD? IF I HAVE THIS MUCH TROUBLE NEXT TIME THERE MY NOT BE A NEXT TIME. I BOUGHT A NEW CAMERA, YEAH ! I LOVE IT, IT TAKES GREAT PICTURES BUT I AM THINKING THIS MAY BE PART OF THE PROBLEM WITH THE DOWNLOADING.
JUST A FEW SHOTS OF SOME AREAS I HAVE BEEN WORKING ON IN THE YARD.
THIS SECOND PICTURE SHOWS THE TOMATOES WAY OFF IN THE BACKGROUND.
PINE BARK THAT I PUT DOWN ON THE PATH AND A FEW PLANTS IN WHAT WILL BE AN AREA OF JUST WHATEVER I DECIDE TO PLANT AT THE TIME. THERES A LOT OF SEED DOWN AND A LOT OF SMALL PLANTS JUST COMING UP, SHOULD BE REAL PRETTY IN A FEW WEEKS.
THIS IS ANOTHER NEW BED, ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE HOUSE, WE HAD PLANTED A SMALL CRAPE MYRTLE SO I PUT A FEW OTHER THINGS AROUND IT.
AND LAST THIS IS A STAINED GLASS WIND CHIME I PUT TOGETHER YESTERDAY. I FOUND ONE ON PINTEREST THAT I REALLY LIKED BUT WHEN I CHECKED IT WAS SELLING FOR $89.00 SO I SAID TO MYSELF...I CAN DO THAT.
SO THERE YOU HAVE IT FOR NOW, I HAD LOTS OF PICTURES OF SOME FLOWERS BUT IT WAS JUST TO HARD TO GET THEM ON HERE.
HOPE EVERYONE IS HAVING AS BEAUTIFUL SPRING AS WE ARE...PERFECT WEATHER.
I"m not sure what happen when I loaded these pictures, they did not come out in the order that I entered them? The second one was suppose to be last. These pieces of furniture are dark green, the tall one on the left just got moved to this wall. Before I had the two small ones with glass doors sitting one on each end and some space in the middle. I tried the larger one in the middle but it did not look right to me.
I would love to have some chickens and I found this pen on FB,now if I could just get honey to build it for me...maybe a little bit larger. I think four hens and a rooster would fit in this nicely, what do you think?
So this is why I had to move the large green cabinet, this is a very old piece and it came out of the house next door that sat empty for so long. It was given to me for looking out for the place as the owners lived up in Georgia and only came down to check on things every few months.
And this is our spare room, well at least one side of it.Since we lost Cat I can put whatever I want to on this bed and know that it will not get clawed or covered in cat hair, so I have the first crazy quilt that I made back in the 80's half displayed. Nothing like spring cleaning, really feels good to get one complete room done, closets and all. My mother trained me well, I wonder if that is something else that is changing, do you still "spring clean" ? Or is that a thing of the past also?
It is finally all green and the garden is in and most of the yard work done for the time being but while it is still cool I like to spend as much time as possible outside. Next week the last of the cleaning will get done and then maybe I will be able to spend some time in my art room.
Sorry I have not been posting but just to much going on right now.
The sun is shinning bright but the wind is blowing and it is COLD. This is a picture of some of our oak trees. As you can see they do not have very many leaves on. It is so strange here in north Florida, we loose our leaves in the spring and not the fall. Then they come back on almost overnight.
There is a honeysuckle vine going up this pole, and I made a little place for the birds to get a drink out of some old china that had belonged to our daughter, Lynn. You can tell it is winter by the brown, no green grass yet. My cats love to get a drink here also.
Even though we have had some below freezing weather these can hardly wait to bloom. An other photo would be good when they actually do.
Some things are so hardy you can always count on them to make a show.
And last but not least, this is Fluffy, she really is my neighbors cat, but she lives at our house.
She is just as sweet as she is cute. When we lost our house cat I was relieved to not have any more animals in the house, but it has been so cold at night, well do I need to say more?
I just know it will be nice before we know it, spring is just around the corner.
Don't forget the time change this week.....spring ahead.
These two blocks are the first ones I have submitted to the CQ challenge. They are 9x9 with a 11/2" ribbon around the edge. The most difficult thing for me is to "fill in all the blanks" if the material is really pretty I have a problem with covering it up. I'm working on that.
Most of the time I like to use an image, sometimes a family member, which is not the case here.
I have found that over the years of collecting lace and appliques that I have much more than I will ever use.
I am considering making up packets that will color coordinate and offering them for sale. They will have a little of each, lace, trim, appl..buttons, and an image. I will post more about this later.
These are off of one of our Camellia bushes. Can you believe that one bush has both of these flowers?
I found this picture somewhere, not sure where now but I thought if you do any digital work it would really be a great background.
And last, is this not just amazing ? If you have ever loved paper dolls like I know some of you have, you have got to love this.....reminds me of some of the petal dresses my friend Janet over @ Random Acts of Art has created. The link is http://jkbees.blogspot.com
Well the sun is shinning and after four days of rain the outdoors is calling to me.
Hope everyone is getting ready for spring.
Have a great rest of the week and be BLESSED.
Saying goodbye to a sweet companion of 15 years.
Cat will be missed but I know it was time, she was not able to groom herself and did not want anyone else to do it. She just kept loosing weight no matter how much we fed her.
Over the years I have been the one to make the horrid trip to the vet to have pets put down, even my husbands dog that we had for over 13 years.....so hard.
Well this time my honey said he would do it.
He even dug the grave.
I am trying to remember all of the good times and not think about the loss, but it is hard.
Hope every ones New Year is starting out a little better than ours.
2013 is here, ready or not.
It is the day before Christmas and a little sad around our house, this is a picture of Cat, she is about 15 years old and not doing to good. She has been a close companion and the only cat in the house for a very long time. We came up here from the Keys in 2003 and brought her and three other cats with us. They were outdoor cats and all lived to be over 20. I know we are going to have to put cat down but I did not want to do it at Christmas time. All of the outside cats have been replaced with strays that adopted us.
This is Fluffy, our new neighbors cat....she likes it at our house better. She is a very sweet cat and loves to be picked up and made over. Maybe we should not have fed her!
Here I am wishing you all a very MERRY CHRISTMAS......this picture is a few years old...and one that I had a little help transforming on the computer.
BE BLESSED .....AND I WILL BE BACK AFTER THE FIRST OF THE YEAR.
