Teacup Tuesday #11 & Sooo Sorry !

Another cute image that can be used, came from the same site as before, you can find it on my last post. Sorry I had it and Janet's address both wrong but I made them right.
No time for new teacup pictures this week. Sorry. We will be leaving on vacation this coming Saturday a.m. and I will be away from the computer for a little over a week. So much to do and so little time to do it.....this trip was a spur of the moment thing.

One last image I wanted to share.
Also, my apologies to all that tried to leave a comment over the past few weeks.....I do not know what Blogger has done, but I am sure they are behind all of this.
Please try to leave a comment this week so I will be able to see if there is still a problem.
Thank you so much and please do come back. See you on the 31st.

Please keep us in your prayers as we travel to Illinois.
Be BLESSED and have a wonderful Tuesday tea time.

Tea cup Tuesday #10

It looks like a tea party to me.
This cute picture of the kitties and the tea service was a free print offered by Blanca over at
http://magicmoonlightfreeimages.blogspot.com/ whole blog is nothing but vintage photos for you to copy.
SORRY THE ADDRESS I GAVE OUT BEFORE WAS WRONG...TRY THIS ONE. THANK YOU Patti for bringing this to my attention.

The cup I choose to show you today is the August cup from the twelve flower of the month cups by Royal Albert. When I was buying these, (one at a time) I found out Royal Albert made another series of Flower of the Month cups with the month showing. They however were not as fancy. different handle and did not have the little leaf trim. They also made a flower of the month, using different flowers, called the Friendship series. I have three of that set.

This is a picture of the first eight months. It does not show the saucer very well. Click on the picture for a better look.

Well my birthday is over and I am thanking God for a really nice one full of good memories and gifts. I had tried to show some of the gifts that my dear friend Janet, over at http://jkbees.blogspot.com had made for me and I was having a hard time getting a good picture. Finally got one that is pretty good to show you, and I'd say these ladies were dressed for tea.
Hope everyone has a wonderful day, take time to be thankful, fix a cup of tea, relax, and go visit all of the Teacup Tuesday blogs hosted by Martha @ http://marthasfavorites.blogspot.com/ and Terri @ http://artfulafirmations.blogspot.com/ Thank you ladies for hosting.

Monday is my Happy Birthday

It is not that I am in a hurry to be older but I will be gone tomorrow and there will not be time to post then. First I must say a big THANK YOU to God, family, and friends for making this a wonderful birthday. The blessings started coming
this past week. Early Thursday morning I saw a doe and her twin fawns in the back yard, then the next day I found this lily blooming, the blessing is that I did not plant it and there are three of them that just sprang up in my walk way, they have come up for the past three years, but never bloomed before now, the week of my birthday.
I have received packages, cards and cash over the past few days and I feel so BLESSED !
Honey took me out to dinner on Friday night. So all in all it has made "getting old" a little bit nicer.

A lot of pretty art, not by me but for me....three of these beautiful ladies, two of which I framed and put it the small bathroom along with the two larger ones that are framed Ladies Home Journal covers from the early 1900's.
All of these items arrived in the mail Friday all the way from Ca.
A set of these gorgeous cards made with a photo taken of these Agapanthus growing in the artist yard.

Sorry about the glare, I tried several times and just could not get a photo without it. But I wanted to show you the art after I framed it.

This is my wall in my computer room, it is what I see when I sit at my desk. Mostly it is family and three Fox prints. There was an empty space where you see the bow and the tulip plaque and I was looking at it last week and thinking, I wonder what I could put in that space???? Along comes this beautiful art work which looks like it was designed with the space in mind.
That's the kind of life long friend that I have been blessed with, one that knows me and loves me any how, that is so generous and thoughtful, and a very talented lady, my childhood friend Janet K, (you all know her from "Just Me and My Art") Thank you Janet for making my day a very special one I will remember always.

Teacup Tuesday #9

Don't you just hate it when you are trying to put together a post and you get the pictures all in the wrong place? Well here it is Tuesday already. Does this kind of look like I am rushing fall? Wish it were that easy. I am more than ready, this has been as hot a summer as we had cold last winter.

On post # 7 I had a cup shaped like this one which is one of a set of cups made by Royal Albert, called the Friendship series. That cup had been given to me and I never really noticed it was part of a set. So I went to ebay and started searching for the others. I found three different patterns, this is one of them. They started at $22, $29, or a buy it now at $55.........and then I found this one, it was listed at $2.25, with a shipping of $8. So of course I placed a bid. Then came the long wait, five days, I kept checking, no one was bidding, could it be, will I really win this for $2.25? Well of course I talked to my father about it, then I told Him thank you and the day finally came, I sat at the computer trying to decide if I would bid again if someone placed a bid........well, no one did! It arrived in the mail yesterday. oh, and the seller refunded me $2 on the shipping, so final cost, $8.25.

What a blessing.

This is a closer look at the cup. I am wondering if any of you collectors have the whole set? If I can get any of the others at the price I paid for this one, or less, of course I will have to go for it.

This second cup I also just purchased, and the price was right on it also. It is made by Adderley and is fine bone china from England with a number. I love the shape and the colors and of course the rose. There is a little shop in a village in a little place called Dowling Park, about a fifteen minute drive from me. It is right on the river and it is a very peaceful place to go. The shop is run by volunteers and the items are mostly donated by the retired people that live around there. This cup was part of a collection that had belonged to a lady named Pauline, she had to go to a nursing home. The shop had about four of her cups left, I liked this one the best and I thought $8 was a great price. As I was paying for it and talking to the sales clerk I was told, "Oh, honey, you should have seen the ones we sold last week when they first came in" ! That sounds a little like the fish that got away story! Just as well .........I'm running out of room.

SO ONCE AGAIN I WOULD LIKE TO THANK MARTHA AND TERRI FOR HOSTING , please click on the teacup on my side bar to visit them and all the other ladies doing Teacup Tuesday.
