This is a wooden box I found at a yard sale for 50 cents. It has a painted tile insert and is signed by F. W. Thomas. I found a painting done by him on e-bay selling for $2,600. What a great gift this will make.

This green frosted plate was 50 cents at another yard sale, it goes so well in our kitchen and will hold different decorations for the holidays

This dish is one of 37 pcs. from the Goodwill. Cost $9. It is T & V Limoges.
If anyone out there is familiar with this pattern and knows the name of it I would love to know.
It is being held up with one of four wooden plate holders also a yard sale find for 25 cents a piece.

This beautiful crystal cake plate was $1. at the same yard sale that I found the green plate at.
This lady also had a large box of ribbon, mostly new spools, she was selling for 25 cents each.
I guess you know I dropped about $4 on those, should have bought the whole box......
Oh yes, by the way, the cake plate is PLASTIC !!!!

I saved the best for last, all of this material, all satin except for the one piece of pink net,
I dug out of a dumpster up in Illinois.........
My daughter had some things she wanted to drop off at the thrift store and she asked me to get out and ring the bell. So I did and walking past the dumpster, glanced in, saw all of this like new
pieces of fabric. I asked the lady if I could have it, she said, "Oh sure, anything in there is free"
To bad I didn't have a grabber with me. The whole time I am having a ball fishing this stuff out
my daughter is in the truck yelling at me, "MOTHER GET OUT OF THE DUMPSTER" .
Who would have thought it, that was one of the most "fun times" I had up there, I love free!!!!

It was my turn.........
Most of you that know me know that I worked as a thrift store manager in the Keys for
13 years. We had two big dumpsters out back and a lot of good usable stuff ended up in there.
We had regulars that came around every evening after we closed, we never did mind that as
long as they did not make a mess all over the ground. The more they took the more room we had before the next pick-up. Some times little old ladies would get confused and think it was the drop off bin, (which we never had) and they would put their donations in the dumpster.
One morning I came to work and found a homeless man sleeping in one of them,
I did say it was in the Keys, right?
You are liable to see ANYTHING down there.

Happy treasure hunting, it's that time of the year.
