Keeping tradition

Do you still hang clothes on a line?
This sure brings back memories from my childhood. Hanging the clothes out was one of my chores. Oh sure, I had chores and lots of them. My mother worked and I was an only child so I had lots of fun stuff to do. Start dinner, do dishes, help with the laundry, dust, I even was expected to help wash the windows.
Now however I enjoy hanging clothes on the line to dry, especially the sheets and towels.

Look what we will be eating in a few days.

The plants have really grown. We have already picked cucumbers and we even have a few peppers almost ready.

The day lillies in our yard are this color, now I need to find some yellow and maybe a light orange to add in with these.

One of our smarter cats....hanging out under the porch, he knows where to go when it gets hot. And is it hot you might ask......well how does 96 sound? You can find me in the A.C.

Making a mess. This is my chair in the living room and as you can see the floor and table are covered with lace, appliques, buttons, threads, etc. Yes I am finally working on the crazy quilt squares again. There is a few of them stacked on the table. This project is a lot bigger than I thought it would be.

I would rather do small things like the altered jar.

I am making it for a friend at church, next picture is part of the other side.

So there you have it, a few of the things going on at our house.

It felt very strange to pick up a brush, it has been so long since I did any back ground painting for journal pages. As soon as I finish the quilt I think that will be next on the to do list.

Have you got a "to do list"?

I hope it is full of fun stuff that makes you smile.

Have a great week and try and stay cool.

Another Day in my Exciting Life

Can you believe it is the middle of May already?
Is time flying by fast for you to? I missed posting on Mothers Day and my youngest son's birthday. I was dealing with a sever rash that kept me "out of it" for almost two weeks. Saw two different doctors before getting some relief. I took some pictures and was going to post them but they were just to yucky to show.
I read my friends blog this morning http://jkbees.blogspot.com/ and she ask, "is bloging dead"? Soooo even though I have to study, work in the yard, do some laundry, and cook I thought I should take time to do this.

Here is a great old painting that I had planned to use if I did a Mothers Day post. Maybe someone might want to copy it for their art projects.

This is what my youngest daughter and her family did on Mothers Day. The young lady standing is my grand daughter and that is Mo with her, my grand dog.

And this is HIM on another outing, this trip they went to the Glades to camp and air boat.

Can you say, "BAD DOG"?

So there you have it for today, I will try to post more often and will continue to read others blogs so let's keep BLOGLAND alive.
