Calendar page

So hard to believe the month of March is all but gone. Here is the calendar page for the month of April. These date back to 1867.
There will be no pictures of the work I have done in my fabric journal until I can purchase a new camera. Mine quit working. I have two more double pages done but no way to show them to you.

So instead I will share a couple of ladies that I really like. I am really fond of the pictures where the lady is in a hammock or when she has a book in hand, or as in this picture where she seems to be pondering a letter or maybe a journal page.

This is one of the works of Waterhouse....I really like his paintings, and have managed to collect several.

Maybe you can use them in some of your own art.

Well the big day is almost upon us....Honey and I will be going to the V.A. Monday for his x-ray and to see what his doctor has to say. He just might be released.

When we are done there it is off to search for a new camera.

And this Sunday we will be celebrating 45 years of married life together.

There is a song that says it all,

down the road of life together, we've gone a mile or two.....

and I couldn't have made it this far without you.

HAVE A BLESSED AND HAPPY WEEK-END

Spring pages Plus

Can you tell my creativity was affected by SPRING? I already had the lady and the birds ironed onto my fabric so when I decided to use the flowered print I just knew I had to use these two pictures.
And of course we have to have a pocket.

These two pictures of me have writing on the back and have been laminated, then you punch a hole and tie the ribbon on.

This is the digital picture I put together to make my oldest son's birthday card. He loves old cars and trucks so when I found this picture of this old truck I just knew I had to use it. Last years card was made up of a picture of my son and Steven Tyler... they share the same birth month, March.
*******************************************************

And last is this picture I took early the other morning as the sun was coming up through our woods.
I have it in mind to use this to try and make a paint on glass picture, future project.
At the bottom I will leave out some of the space so I can include the words,
From the rising of the sun to the going down of the same,
The name of the Lord is to be praised.
******************************************
Have a BLESSED rest of the week.

Fabric Journal Pages & Ladies

These two pages are not so busy....
The fabric has so much to say on it's own that I did not feel the need to do pockets
or very much in the way of embellishments. I do want to mention again the words
"listen to nature" are done by Cat, from Baumcat, her blog is on my side bar.
She sells these neat sayings and blank journals on her Etsy site.

This is the fabric that is under the things on the left....it is such a pretty color of green and
it did not show up in the last picture.

These next to pages were made with my mother in mind. She passed away in 1985.
She loved butterflies and we had a thing between us about pansies. The card laying
at the side is for writing on and the two small pictures of her have writing on the
back of them. They all go into a pocket that opens above the butterfly. She was always
so full of faith and hope these two words just had to go on one of these pages.
Yesterday honey and I went to the nursery to buy two pepper, and one tomato plants,
they had some pansies (which are on their way out) for ten cents @ so of course I had to
have a few, along with some Saliva, snapdragons, and some purple petunias. Just love
those flowers, I planted them along the walk way.

This next picture is one that can be used in your art.
I really like pictures of ladies from days gone by that
have a book in hand.

One more, she looks like her thoughts might be a long way off.

**************************************************************
The week-end is upon us, hope everyone has a very fun and relaxing one.
Share a smile with someone, the world is to full of sadness.
BE BLESSED, and be a BLESSING to someone.

March madness

M for the month of March. My oldest son has a birthday tuesday, the 13. He was born in 1960, now that will make a body feel old. Also both daughters got married in March. And Hannah my first great grandchild has a birthday on the 25th.

This is the next two pages in my fabric journal. The picture of me with the horse looks a little deformed, it was not laying flat when I took the picture. I included the photo that it came from below. There is a pocket on the left where the cat is, I put some pretty paper in there with all the names of all the cats that I have had over the years. There is also a pocket under the horse, not sure what I will put in it yet, maybe a picture of my grandfather with one of his horses.
The picture of me with my grandparents lifts up and tells a little about the photo.
See the picture below.

You can also see the paper sticking out of the kitty picture.

And this is the picture of me. My parents worked for Olan Mills studio

at the time this was taken.

And last, a picture of our little garden. Those are radish you see coming up, the tomato plants are around the edge and I have flowers in the little holes. I will take another picture in about two weeks.

I had to turn this the old fashion way with a spade and a hoe. I forgot to put gloves on, can you say blisters? Honey felt bad but there was no way he could get in there and do the job with his recovering ankle. He did however put the tomatoes in the ground.

So this and other yard work is why the journal is going so slow.

************************************************************

Hope everyone has a wonderful and blessed Sunday.

Calendar page, and fabric book

Here we are three days into March and I am just now getting this image posted. Hope some of you Victorian lovers are saving these. The first two months are on older posts.

This is the original photo that I used to make the new cover with.

Played around with my digital program so I could give it more

color and interest.

This is what the cover looks like now...I'm not sure if I will add anything else

at this point.

The picture on the left is the one I had on the cover. I like it better in this layout as

it seems to go with the picture of honey and I in the castle, another digital makeover.

Where you see the white sticking out is pockets. Nothing made yet to go in them.

*********************************************************

We spent most of the day in the yard trying to get the garden planted before the rains come this week-end. I will try and post some pictures of it later.

*********************************************************

Let us be mindful of all the people that have been hit by tornadoes, that have suffered loss.

It is so sad to see so much devastation. And if you have been blessed enough to be out of

the path of these terrible storms don't forget to be THANKFUL.

Stay safe and have a great week-end.
