Teacups for sale

These pictures are not the best, my lighting was very poor, and the colors do not come out real true. I tried to take a picture of the top of this cup so you could see the pretty purple velvet but it came out dark blue? This one has pansies and gold trim, no name on the bottom.

And of course I have my pictures out of order, this is the tops of the next two cups. The one on the right has a bird and the other one has gold threads all through it with several other colors. Maybe if you enlarge it it will show better. Also the one on the right is a mini cup, no name, the other one is Lefton China.

All of the cups have ribbon and beads on the handle. Oh by the way in case you can not tell, they are pin cushions. I made these last year at Christmas time and sold eight in one office building. They sell for $15.00 ea.

I used velvet on all of them. One on the left has dark green and the one on the right has burgundy.

This is the last two of this group. I of course used blue on the one with the bird. The one with the red and the flowers has a real pretty gold handle

So this is what I have been doing in between having company, spending time with our grand daughter, who is now 11. We got to go golfing with her father and grandpa, of course all we did was follow them around in a golf cart, she drove, this was a lot of fun, some of those pictures will be on the next post.

Our daughter was not able to make the trip, she got sick at the last minute, so she and the dog Mo stayed home.

And yes, we are still eating TURKEY.
HOPE EVERYONE HAD A BLESSED AND HAPPY THANKSGIVING.

Shall We Dance

Didn't you just love this scene from "The King and I" ?
Do you like to dance?
I LOVE to dance, however I am not to good at it....
I mean not like the lady below, WOW ! sure wish I could do that.
I am dancing like that on the inside.
Makes me think of the phrase...DANCE FOR JOY.

There is a scripture that says, "The joy of the Lord is my strength"........did you know that your joy does not depend on you being happy. I found this following saying and I liked what it says, so I'll share.
Joy is an overflowing, an explosion. Something enters a person's life for which he could never be prepared and his previously tidy self erupts in song, dance and joy.
Approach the Divine with a calculated mind and there is no window for joy. Embrace the infinite beyond mind and let joy surprise you.
*****************************************************
And MORE DANCING, hard to beat Fred Astaire !

Then we must not leave out the feline world.........
is this cute or what?

And my cat says, "wish I could do that, well I better think it over, after all I am 14 years old"

This is Cat, she looks a little sad here, or maybe she is just thinking about how to dance.
*******************************************************
Hope you can find something to bring a little joy into your life.
I know.........CREATE SOMETHING !

New pages

Here are a few more pages, just remember they are just the foundations and not finished works.

Sorry about the glare from the camera.

On this one I thought I would use all of the area around the lady to write in. Also I might be able to write on the snow on the right. These pages are shiny so it is a little harder to write on.

And here is the one from the last post...the lottery ticket pages.

As you can see I added a few pictures and some words.

There is still room for more if I choose .

*******************************************************

We will be having some company next week and that means I need to be

cleaning up the house.

Also I have missed a few days of my walking so while the sun is still doing

what it does best I must get the shoes on and get going.

Don't forget to set your clocks back this week-end.

BE CREATIVE AND BE BLESSED

Altered Book

Several months ago I started working on this altered book.
The name of the book is America's Majestic Canyons. It was a freebie and as soon as I saw it I knew it was a book that I wanted to alter. Some of the pages were just to beautiful to cover, and some of them I covered part of. I mostly painted over the pages of writing, letting some of the words peek through.

These two pages I completely covered with paint and then added some other papers and a pic
out of a magazine. You know the routine, click to make it larger.

This is one of my favorites. And I plan to journal in some of the spaces that are plain.

On some of the pages where writing would not show up well I added scraps of paper.

If you have a spouse like I do, that has been playing the lottery for years...you can appreciate this one. I used to keep all of the old tickets but then I had a cigar box full of them, I threatened to wall paper the bedroom with them, but he did not see the humor in that so I threw them away. Not to worry, we get a new batch every week. After all these years you would think he would win. I am thinking I want to do a pale yellow wash over the whole thing and then add some more pictures????

**************************************************************

So there you have it, nothing great but just to let you know I do spend a little time

playing. It is very hard to not pick up a paint brush or a pair of scissors and the glue stick

every once in awhile.

You know what they say,

"ALL WORK AND NO PLAY, MAKES FOR A VERY DULL DAY"

Hope you are finding time to be creative. After all it is cheaper than going to the doctor.

Generation digital

Has it really been over a week since I posted ?
Where does the time go ? I really like to play around in this program. I should sign up for some classes as I am not really learning anything new. It is just so hard for me to commit to anything else as my days are just to full as it is. The one in the front of course is me, then my mother, then her mother. I wish I had more of the older pictures to work with.

Here we are backat the sand mine and yes I am still walking. This is one of the big rocks I was telling you about.

And this is honey, finding other things to do when they have plenty of sand washed up.

This is some of the things he has cut up.....making scrap. The boss man will take it to Jacksonville and sell it.

*******************************************************

Today I am off to Gainesville with two friends. We are going to "Antique Roadshow"

I will let you know how that goes later.

No walking today.....maybe just a lot of standing in line.
