Get Away, where it's warmer!

Lenny and I were able to go a little farther south for a few days before Christmas and warm up some. Yes we are in north Florida but it gets very cold here. We have friends in Winter Haven, just three hours south of here but far enough that it is about ten degrees warmer. We went out on one of the many lakes for a boat ride and to watch the sun set, and what a beautiful sunset it was.

It was in the mid eighties and very calm, as you can see. There home is on this lake.

No fishing this trip, just relaxing.

My honey collects Case knives and he has several that he no way way to display them.

I found this case while us girls were out hitting the antique shops and the thrift stores. There are so many in Winter Haven that you can go all day for days and not cover them all.

However we tried.....

This first picture shows his display case that he bought from a local hardware store when we were in the Keys. This was sort of the beginning of his collection. The smaller case to the right is the one I found and gave him for Christmas.

As you can see it holds a lot of knives but he has two more shelves full that I did not bother to take pictures of.

Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and is looking forward to a

HAPPY NEW YEAR.

May your new year be filled with blessings.

Merry Christmas

I can not believe Christmas is almost here and I still had not posted any of the pictures I took at Thanksgiving when our son in law brought our granddaughter up for a visit. So Sorry, I guess I am like the rabbit in Alice in Wonderland, "I'm late, I'm late for a very important date"!
Anyway this is a picture I took of the trio when we drove down to Steinhatchee to show our son in law just how close we are to the water. It is really a quaint little area. There you can have the best of both worlds, fishing and hunting. It is about 30 miles from where we live.

Then we hit the golf course, Curt had never played before and so after a few practice shots in our yard, off we went to try it out. Mia and I followed along in our own cart, which she insisted on driving. A fun time was had by all.
Back at the house we had LOTS of food, turkey, ham, and all of the trimmings. Our daughter was sick in bed at home in the Keys. She is all well now and here we are ready (well I do not know about that) but at least CHRISTMAS is upon us.
We are leaving this week to go to the middle of the state to see some friends, hoping to get in a little golf for the guys and some antiquing for us girls. Then home for Christmas and resting up for the BIG surgery honey is having done to his right ankle on the 3rd. of Jan. What a way to start the new year!

I know these are not related to the holidays but I found them in my paper stash while I was looking for something special to use in the new journal I am making. A project I have started to hopefully keep me tied to the craft table while I am playing nurse AGAIN. I thought I had thrown that hat away after his lung surgery but I guess not.

You know the routine, click to enlarge so you can save.

Hope everyone has a very MERRY CHRISTMAS and a safe and happy New Year.

But let us all be mindful of why we have this Holiday......

JESUS IS THE REASON FOR THE SEASON..... Be BLESSED!
