The neighbors pig

Yesterday while I was at church my husband had a visitor, she was so brave as to come up on our porch. Needless to say our cats were scared to death, We have had a few dogs wander in on our property before but they usually let you know they are here with the barking. Honey chased the pig away! Told me about it when I got home, we thought that was the end to the story. Not so ! I went out to give the cats their afternoon snack and guess who was back?
She is a very brave pig, well maybe just tame.....
She was having a good time rooting up our yard and checking everything out.

Then she found our turnip patch, we had just taken the wire down last week and I think she was thinking we might have done that just for her.....
She started to chow down, making all kinds of grunting happy sounds.
This is when I decided to get a stick and chase her off. She took off running to the back of our property and when I followed her I found out she lives at our neighbors and had made a hole in the fence. I knew they had goats but not a pig. Of course they were not home. I tried to patch the hole, left a note on their gate but as of this morning no one has called.

I pray this pig does not find her way back since honey is very fond of ham and bacon.
I dare say this is the most unusual visitor we have ever had for Christmas.
Hope all of your guests were the kind with two legs.

My next post will have some more fabric art.

Freezing but no snow!

I thought this would print out larger...
Hope everyone has a safe and fun filled MERRY CHRISTMAS.
Ours will be very quiet, staying home by the fire, enjoying time off from labor,
and Thanking God for all of our many BLESSINGS.
Fabric journal is almost done with the pages, now will be the big challenge, putting it all together. Pictures and post to follow soon.

Lovely gift in the mail

This is a beautiful altered book made by daughter #1. It is all about things her mother likes, that's me. She sent this in with the box of fabric samples that I posted a few pages back. I can tell she not only put a lot of time in making this but lots of love, the most important part.
You can click on the picture to see a close up.The page on the left depicts the kind of old house she and I have always wanted.

This page has a cute poem, and call me silly, but yes I do like doing laundry, especially hanging clothes on the line.

I wish my front porch looked like this! We do have a nice front porch and we do use it a lot. Our three outdoor cats seem to like it the most, that is where you will find them most of the time.

She knows that I love to sing and praise the Lord.
There is so much to be thankful for and so much to be mindful of especially now that we are in the Christmas Season. I pray you be blessed and have a very MERRY CHRISTMAS

Playing in photoshop

The couple in this picture are my great grandparents, taken in 1899.
The Victorian lady was a freebie I picked up and the snow background is some place in Minnesota. Now it has been cold enough for snow but no moisture, so no snow for us here in north Florida. The last few nights it has dipped as low as 19. We have had to cover the water pump and tank, keep a light on some plants, and of course turn on the heating blanket that is in the cats little house. We have the three outside cats (shown in another post). Two of them do not like each other but this cold weather has caused them to re-think their differences. The black and white one is a tom and he tries to keep peace between the two girls by getting in the middle. Now whether he really cares or he is just trying to stay warm, who can say?
I did not think to take a picture of their bed in time for this post so maybe next time.
Hope everyone is having a fun filled Christmas Season, full of love, family, friends, and giving.
And most of all let us not forget:
The reason for the Season is JESUS.

Cats and fabric

WISH I COULD TEACH MY CATS TO DO THIS...
AND I WORRY ABOUT INSPIRATION, WONDER WHAT THIS GUY USES?
ALL ART HAS BEEN ON HOLD AROUND HERE, WAITING FOR THIS TO ARRIVE,
IS THIS NOT A BOX OF TREASURE??? SO NOW I CAN FINISH MY FABRIC BOOK.

ARE THESE PRETTY OR WHAT ?
THIS IS ALL MY CATS ARE GOOD AT.
SWEETIE, ON THE RIGHT, ALWAYS WORRIES ABOUT HOW MUCH FOOD THE REST OF THEM HAVE.

YOU GOTTA ADMIT HE IS A PRETTY BOY.
THAT'S OUR BUDDY. HE WAS A FULL GROWN CAT WHEN HE ADOPTED US, HE DOES NOT LIKE TO BE HELD BUT HE SURE LIKES TO BE PETTED.

THIS IS ONE OF THE BRAVE LITTLE PANSIES I PLANTED ABOUT A WEEK AGO....IT HAS BEEN DOWN IN THE 20'S AT NIGHT BUT THEY ARE HANGING IN THERE. IT IS SUPPOSE TO BE COLD ALL THIS WEEK. YES I KNOW IT IS WINTER BUT WE LIVE IN NORTH FLORIDA, (THE SUNSHINE STATE) AND THESE TEMPS ARE JUST TO LOW.
SO HOPE YOU ALL ARE KEEPING WARM AND GETTING READY FOR A MERRY CHRISTMAS.
